Award-Winning Research: Gries Lab Students Shine at the Entomological Society of British Columbia Meeting!

At the recent Joint Annual Meeting of the Entomological Societies of Canada and Alberta, Emmanuel Hung (PhD student) and Augustus Negraeff (Undergraduate student), both from the Gries Lab, won the President's Prize for best oral student presentation in their respective symposia.

  • Emmanuel鈥檚 presentation: 鈥淏acterial egg symbiont-derived odors inform stable fly oviposition decisions鈥
  • Augustus鈥檚 presentation: 鈥淭rust your gut: Bacteria identified in stable fly feces inform foraging decisions of conspecific flies鈥
  • Emmanuel Hung also received the 'Entomological Society of Canada Postgraduate Scholarship (PhD)'.
