Marta Ulaski, a PhD candidate in Jonathan Moore's lab, has received the J. Frances Allen Scholarship Award from the American Fisheries Society!

According to the AFS, the award was established in 1986 to honour Allen, who pioneered women's involvement in the AFS and in the field of fisheries. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage women to become fisheries professionals. Marta's research aims to understand the risks of global change (i.e. anthropogenic activities, effects of climate change) to fishes and ultimately to inform effective management of populations and the watersheds that they occupy.

Marta's award was announced at the AFS Annual Meeting held in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations, Marta!!
