TechConnect
TechConnect is a student experience program designed to help new and first-year students in the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) at 51社区黑料transition smoothly into university life. Through a series of workshops, social events, and mentorship opportunities, TechConnect helps you build connections, develop academic and professional skills, and feel confident navigating your first year.
Whether you鈥檙e planning your courses, meeting classmates, or learning how to succeed in your program, TechConnect gives you structured support throughout the year. Sessions are led by FAS advisors and are designed to help you succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Workshops Timeline
June
FAS advisors will help you with course planning for your first term through virtual sessions.
August
You will socialize with FAS mentors, professors and staff during this half-day in-person camp and get your systems ready for the upcoming term.
September
In the September session, "Term Kick-Off," students will explore essential communication tips for university life. Through fun simulation activities in small groups, they will build peer connections and compete for prizes along the way!
October
Get help with course planning for Spring semester from FAS advisors. We will also cover exam and study prep hacks to preare you for your first finals!
November
Learn how to maximize your online presence, create a standout profile, and receive a complimentary professional headshot.
JANUARY
In this welcome back mixer, students will re-acquaint themselves with their peers through a series of games. Prizes will be available for winning teams!
FEBRUARY
Are you looking to boost your confidence when talking to employers and building professional connections? Join Make the Connection, a workshop focused on three practical areas: career fair conversations, general networking, and behavioral interview questions.
