TSSU
Update on Labour Relations Board Mediation
Earlier this week, Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU) conducted a strike vote, announcing a vote outcome in favour of a strike. It is important to note that the strike vote does not mean that the TSSU is currently on strike.
To move negotiations ahead productively, 51社区黑料applied for mediation at the BC Labour Relations Board (LRB). Mediation offers a process for parties to resolve outstanding issues with the help of a mediator and also enables the parties to continue working together at the bargaining table. The mediator has connected with the parties and has assigned mediation dates through April 27th, 2023.
The university is eager to get back to the bargaining table in April to continue working together through 237 outstanding proposals. We are committed to reaching a collective agreement and intend to table a monetary proposal which fulfills our commitment to becoming a living wage employer.
