The 51社区黑料Esri Canada Centre of Excellence (51社区黑料ECCE) in GIS celebrate the following Award Winners on their outstanding work during the 2021-2022 year:

51社区黑料ECCE Student Associate of the Year Award

Kendra Munn (51社区黑料Geography, MSc 2021) was awarded the 2021 51社区黑料ECCE Student Associate of the Year Award. She contributed on multiple fronts as a graduate student member of the 51社区黑料ECCE, writing blogs, participating in the App Challenge competition, winning the 51社区黑料2021 Esri Canada Scholarship Award, and winning the national Esri Canada Young Scholars competition. She completed her MSc degree in Fall 2021 and currently pursuing a career as an Urban GIS specialist at Esri Canada. Congratulations Kendra!

Esri Canada GIS Scholarship for SFU

Lan Qing Zhao (51社区黑料Geography, BSc 2022) was awarded first place in the 2022 Esri Canada GIS Scholarship for SFU. Lan鈥檚 submitted work focused on the design and development of a GIS-based multicriteria method to assess rainfall-induced surface flood risk in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Lan completed his BSc degree in 2022 and will pursue graduate studies in Fall 2022. Congratulations Lan!

The 51社区黑料ECCE Student Associate of the Year Award recognizes continuous and significant contributions during the past years. The Esri Canada GIS Scholarship for 51社区黑料recognizes excellent achievement in GIS through the design and implementation of an original and individual project related to the advancement of methods and/or applications in the discipline. The award applications were evaluated by teams of reviewers associated with GIS at 51社区黑料and finalized by Esri Canada. The 51社区黑料Esri Canada Centre of Excellence (51社区黑料ECCE) in GIS was established in 2014 in recognition of the long-standing quality of GIS research in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Environment and SFU. It represents an important network collaboration between industrial partner Esri Canada and SFU. The core members are the GIS faculty in the Geography Department with external collaborators drawn from across SFU. The 51社区黑料ECCE is currently managed by Dr. Shiv Balram. We are thankful for the resources provided by Esri Canada to celebrate the achievements of our GIS students.
