Introduces international studies historically, tracing the patterns of conflicts and co-operation between nations, states and social groups in the world of the last half of the twentieth century and into the twenty-first. Examines important problems in the contemporary world from the perspectives of different social science disciplines: poverty and development aid; war; and environmental change.
