Organic Chemistry Laboratory I CHEM 285 (1)

Organic chemistry lab experiments in the preparation, purification, and spectroscopic analysis of organic compounds, with a focus on developing fundamental experimental skills for the organic chemistry laboratory. This course is the same as the laboratory component of CHEM 281. It is intended for students who have credit for CHEM 280. Prerequisite: CHEM 120 and CHEM 125, both with a minimum grade of C-, or CHEM 121 with a minimum grade of C-. Corequisite: CHEM 280 and (CHEM 122 or CHEM 180). Students with credit for CHEM 281 may not take this course for further credit.
