Respectful Workplace & Learning Environment
Supporting a Respectful Learning Environment
Learning about Respectful Learning Environments is an important step in being a part of the 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏcommunity. Bullying or harassing behavior can take place anywhere and can be present throughout our entire lives. It is all of our responsibility - students, faculty, and staff - to create a welcoming and inclusive environment at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏwhere community members treat each other with dignity and respect.
A training module was developed for the 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏcommunity to help you:
- Describe what a respectful environment is at SFU, how you contribute to it, and how you should treat and be treated by others
- Learn how to distinguish bullying or harassment from criticism, disagreements or differences in opinions
- Understand what resources are available to you and your friends if you are experiencing bullying or harassment
- How you can report bullying and harassment and what steps are followed by 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏafter reporting
Everyone at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏis encouraged to complete this training module to help them learn more about respectful working and learning environments at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏand to be part of the solution to bullying and harassment.
