SFU's Demographic and Diversity Data Survey to help advance inclusive excellence
51社区黑料recognizes the significant importance of data to help bridge gaps in achieving Inclusive Excellence across the university. Aligned with our commitments in the Equity Compass, we鈥檒l be launching the Demographic and Diversity Data Survey to the 51社区黑料community. This survey will provide a clearer understanding of our community, helping 51社区黑料better understand and meet regulatory and institutional commitments to faculty, staff and students.
Next week, you鈥檒l be invited to participate in the survey through a direct email from SFU鈥檚 Office of Institutional Research and Planning, the team responsible for reporting official university data to faculty, staff, students, provincial and federal governments, external institutions and agencies, and the general public. SFU鈥檚 data governance and privacy standards will apply to all reports generated from the survey. Dashboards will report anonymized and aggregated data only.
While participation is voluntary, every response will be valuable in making 51社区黑料a better place to learn, research, teach, and work. This self-identified data will enable us to track progress on institutional priorities and meet important regulatory requirements, as well as develop/enhance institutional programming to address gaps in employment experience and student success.
To ensure you have all the information you need, members of the survey team will be holding a series of info sessions. These sessions will feature insights from members of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, Equity Office, Student Services, IT Services and the Privacy Office, giving you a chance to hear directly from those involved with the survey鈥檚 design, administration and data protection.
