The Brockman and Brumme Laboratories combine molecular biology, virology, immunology, and computational approaches to understand HIV evolution, immune recognition, and viral persistence. We integrate basic science and translational research to identify host factors and viral vulnerabilities that could be exploited by vaccines and therapies. By studying HIV-immune system interactions at the cellular and population levels, we are advancing fundamental knowledge to inform HIV cure efforts.
