Hannah is passionate about Indigenous cultural safety in healthcare, strengthening health system capacity in rural and remote communities, and improving diagnostic acceptability and accessibility.

Biography

Hannah (she/her) is Li千史i艂dax史 from the We Wai Kai Nation on Vancouver Island, with mixed M茅tis and European ancestry. She moved to Vancouver in 2017 to pursue secondary school, and now works and lives as an uninvited guest on the traditional and unceded territories of the x史m蓹胃k史蓹y虛蓹m (Musqueam), Skwxw煤7mesh (Squamish), and S蓹l虛铆lw蓹ta蓙涩 (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She works on several projects pertaining to infectious disease diagnostics at BC Children鈥檚 Hospital, including her thesis research that focuses on validation and implementation of self-collected sample types for respiratory pathogens. Her recent work as a research assistant has focused on barriers and facilitators to community-based molecular diagnostic testing in collaboration with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
