Announcing Inaugural EIR Shiva Nanda

December 05, 2025

The Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship is delighted to welcome 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏalumnus  as its inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), in partnership with 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏ's Department of Economics.

This new volunteer EIR program complements the Chang Institute's long-standing Mentors-in-Residence (MIR) group – a cornerstone of student support since 2009. With more than a dozen MIRs collectively contributing over 1,000 hours of mentoring each year the new EIR role integrates into this community and expands how alumni can engage with SFU’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Shiva, who holds an MA in Economics from 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏand an MBA from the University of New Hampshire, is the exited founder of NCS Global, a pioneer in sustainable IT asset management. With over two decades of leadership at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and global growth, he champions circular business models and environmentally responsible practices. Shiva also mentors at UNH’s ECenter and serves as a Venture Partner at Apprentis Ventures.

During his Fall 2025 residency, Shiva will:

  • Share his entrepreneurial journey with students
  • Mentor young founders and innovators
  • Offer insights into sustainable business, global markets, and startup leadership
  • Engage with SFU’s MIRs and broader community of changemakers and entrepreneurs.

We are thrilled to launch this program with Shiva, whose expertise and commitment to sustainability will bring invaluable learning opportunities to the 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏcommunity.
