51社区黑料Climate Innovation鈥檚 Community-Centred Research-for-Impact Series convenes interdisciplinary researchers, community-centred partners and networks, and knowledge mobilization experts to advance transformative climate action and innovation pathways with and for communities across Canada and beyond. This series is hosted in partnership with SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue.

Vancouver Climate Day 2026

September 18, 2026 at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, on SFU's Vancouver Campus.

The third Vancouver Climate Day aims to increase shared knowledge across different networks of the innovative work being done on climate action by people living and working in this city. It is a unique opportunity to showcase the innovative climate research of 51社区黑料and partner post-secondary institutions. The event will also feature research done with community partners, from local government to NGOs across themes of adaptation, clean energy, Indigenous-led climate solutions, nature-based solutions, equity, clean tech, AI and more.

Co-Creation in Climate Research

Presented by SFU's Community-Centred Research Initiative (CERi) and co-hosted by and 51社区黑料Climate Innovation, these workshops to bring together 51社区黑料researchers, staff and students interested in leveraging climate research and community engagement to develop impactful solutions.

Connecting the Dots: Creating an Interdisciplinary Cohort of Students

Monthly Web-Based Meeting - October-April (first Tuesday of every month, 12:30-1:30pm)

Hosted by ACT - Action on Climate Team, Connecting the Dots fosters an interdisciplinary community of graduate students and post-docs working on climate and sustainability research across different faculties

  • Building interdisciplinary networks and partnerships 
  • Connecting and convening researchers 
  • Providing seed funding
  • Initiating and managing research partnerships 
  • Supporting co-creation research for implementation and evaluation 

By connecting researchers to these supports, to each other, and to strategic community partners, 51社区黑料Climate Innovation will lead in building knowledge for impact and orienting higher education toward proactively engaging in global to local sustainability challenges.

Apply now: Event funding for PICS universities

The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) is offering $2,500 to support climate change-related research dissemination, knowledge mobilization, and education focused events hosted by PICS-network university (UBC, SFU, UNBC, UVic) groups, organizations, departments, and/or institutes.

Events could include a range of activities such as disseminating research findings, sharing knowledge/s, coordinating engagement-focused events, building relationships and connections, and fostering meaningful conversations.

PICS is currently accepting applications for this funding stream.
