My research takes a critical perspective on the role of data and information systems in development and social change. It is oriented by three main concerns: 1) the place of cognitive justice in the digital age, 2) how data mediates knowing, being and doing, and 3) the need to develop tools and approaches that address epistemic polycrisis and foster critical place-making.

I work in partnership with local actors to develop digital literacy techniques that build connection, care and creativity.  I also study the policy regime for data and advocate for socially-oriented approaches to data regulation in the platform economy.
