Research Interests

Dr. Daniel Chang is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at 51社区黑料. His teaching and research focus on the ethical and pedagogical integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in postsecondary education, with particular interest in supporting self-regulated learning, metacognition, and inclusive teaching practices. Daniel鈥檚 recent work explores how generative AI tools (i.e. such as chatbots and large language models) can be ethically designed and implemented to enhance student reflective engagement and academic support services (like writing center). He is the co-author of the CHAT-ACTS framework with  from Mount Saint Vincent University, which guides the integration of personalized AI chatbots to support active learning and learner autonomy. His broader scholarship spans writing assessment, multilingual education, and digital learning design. In addition to his research, Daniel teaches undergraduate courses in educational psychology, instructional psychology, academic literacy, and research methods. He is committed to supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive, student-centered approaches to technology-enhanced education.
