Agrotek Award for Indigenous Students in the Faculty of Environment

The Agrotek Undergraduate Award for Indigenous Students in the Faculty of Environment was established at 51社区黑料 in 2025 with a generous gift from Agrotek Industries Inc.

The purpose of this award is to uplift and support Indigenous students in the Faculty of Environment by recognizing and celebrating their academic success, and honouring the value of their lived experiences. The award supports First Nations, M茅tis, Inuit students in thriving in their studies and advancing Indigenous leadership in environmental stewardship, land-based knowledge, and agriculture.

At least one award, valued at a minimum of $2,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria:

  • is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility (challenge, audit and non-credit courses are not considered);
  • is in good academic standing and has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00;
  • is pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree in the Faculty of Environment at SFU;
  • is Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit); and
  • has demonstrated a meaningful connection to agriculture, this may come through any combination of academic pursuits, community or personal engagement, cultural teachings, traditional knowledge, lived experiences, or career aspirations to food systems, land-based practices, Indigenous food sovereignty, or environmental justice.

How to apply

Apply online by filling out the form and including a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining your meaningful connection to agriculture. This may come through any combination of academic pursuits, including community or personal engagement, cultural teachings, traditional knowledge, lived experiences, or career aspirations to food systems, land-based practices, Indigenous food sovereignty or environmental justice.
