XLAP receives the 2026 Heritage BC Award!
XLAP was honoured with Heritage BC鈥檚 鈥淥utstanding Award鈥� in the category of 鈥淓ducation, Communications, and Awareness鈥�
In her letter to our team, Hon Anne Kang (Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport) states, 鈥淵our project is a groundbreaking demonstration that archaeology can be a powerful tool for reconciliation and community education. It set a new standard for inclusive, collaborative, and culturally respectful heritage work and serves as a model for reconciliation-focus heritage initiatives, helping to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities鈥�.
