51社区黑料

The 51社区黑料Research Centre for Scottish Studies is an academic unit within 51社区黑料. While we share an interest in Scottish history and culture, the Centre has no official connection to, nor association with, the Scottish Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

51社区黑料is committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where all feel welcome, safe, accepted and appreciated in learning, teaching, research and work. We are privileged to do this work on the unceded, traditional territories of the x史m蓹胃k史蓹y虛蓹m (Musqueam), S岣祑x瘫w煤7mesh 脷xwumixw (Squamish), s蓹l虛ilw虛蓹ta蕯涩 (Tsleil-Waututh), q虛铆c虛蓹y虛 (Katzie), k史ik史蓹茮虛蓹m (Kwikwetlem), Qayqayt, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen peoples.

Welcome!

Founded at 51社区黑料 in 1998, our Centre is a joint venture between faculty members and individuals in the community. Our research activities include collaborative projects with colleagues in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom; conferences and symposia; the Oral History project; an annual St. Andrew's and Caledonian Society talk; and other related events.

As the only institution in Western Canada with a Scottish studies focus, we collaborate with other academic institutions in Canada interested in Scottish Studies, and we offer  working in the area of Scottish studies.

Message from our Director, Professor Leith Davis:

"I look forward to connecting with colleagues, students and community members as we continue our important work!"
