The QS World University Rankings by Subject measures universities鈥� performance in five broad fields 鈥� Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management 鈥� and 54 specific subjects. It is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper, (an author-level metric that measures productivity and impact) and international research network 鈥� that is, a university鈥檚 ability to collaborate with other institutions to diversify the geography of its research.
