January - May 2026 East Campus Temporary Roadway Interruptions
The following is related to UniverCity Parcel 36 & 37 construction activity...

When:
Anticipated to begin January 19th and be completed May 2026
Daily construction activity can be expected between 7:00am - 4:00pm. Extended work hours beyond 4:00pm may be anticipated
Where:
1. The section of University Crescent between University High Street and Tower Road
2. The intersection of University High Street and University Crescent
Work to be completed:
Public realm work will be completed. This will involve temporary traffic lane closures on University Crescent and at the intersection of University High Street and University Crescent
Expected interruptions:
1. Single Lane Alternating Traffic can be expected along the section of University Crescent between University High Street and Tower Road. Delays can be expected along University Crescent, Slope Mews and University High Street
2. During the above period, 2-3 weeks of utility work will be completed. This work will encroach into the intersection of University Crescent and University High Street. Single Lane Alternating Traffic can be expected on University High Street between the University Crescent intersection and roundabout at University Drive East. Traffic delays can be expected along Universiversity Drive East, Univesity High Street, University Crescent and Slope Mews while this work is underway
3. Pedestrians will be detoured to use sidewalks not impacted by the above work
4. Cyclists will be detoured with vehicle traffic

Jan - Mar University Drive East (North) Temporary Roadway and Sidewalk Interruptions
When:
Janaury 22 through March (2026)
Where:
The section of University Drive East between Arts Road and Halpern Lane
Work to be completed:
1. The sidewalk will be replaced
2. Landscape work will be completed
Expected interruptions:
1. The eastern section of parking at the Diamond University Centre will be closed (Temporary NO PARKING). This is to allow for traffic lane shifts to maintain two-way traffic through the area during the project period
2. The concrete sidewalk and let down within the work site will be replaced. See map for location/work site
2. Landscape work within the work site will be completed

SPRING 2025 - July 2027 Campus Roadway and Parking Lot Interruptions
The following is related to activity that can be expected on the Burnaby campus as part of the Student Residence "Phase 3 Construction Project"

Spring 2025 - July 2027
Where:
1. Residence main parking lot off West Campus Road
2. West Campus Road
3. University Drive West
4. Sections of Gaglardi Way and University Drive East
Work to be completed:
Constuction of student residence building
Expected interruptions:
1. An increase in construction vehicles travelling on campus can be expected along sections of Gaglardi Way, University Drive East, University Drive West, and West Campus Road. This includes slow moving vehicles navigating roadway inclines.
2. Traffic delays can be expected. Allow extra travel time.
3. The northern section of the Residence main parking lot is closed throughout the building construcition period and restricted to construction personnel and vehicles.
4. Construction vehicles will be travelling through the residence main parking lot off West Campus Road to enter and depart from the construction site staging and lay-down area. Caution should be exercised and extra attention given to traffic control person assisting with truck routing through the parking lot and in and out of the construction site.

December 22, 2025 thru late Spring 2028
Where:
University Crrescent and University High Street
Work to be completed:
Construction of UniverCity Parcel 24 (Symposia). This will involve Construction activity on University Crescent and within parking space, as outlined below.
Expected interruptions:
1. The southbound section of University Crescent between Highland Court and University High Street will be closed during construction hours to accommodate construction activity.
2. The parking zone along University High Street between University Crescent and East Campus Road will be closed at times to accommodate construction activities.
3. Motorists southbound on University Crescent will be detoured to use Highland Court.

1. The northbound traffic lane of University Crescent between University High Street and Highland Court will be kept open for northbound traffic only
2. Transit bus routing and schedule is not anticipated to be impacted by the above
