Upcoming Sessions

  • June 2 | 2:30 p.m. | How to Navigate Transitions

Navigating transitions can be challenging without the right tools and skills. Many Black-identifying students are international students who experience culture shock when arriving in Canada. They also face the transition from high school to university in a new country, which adds its own set of difficulties. Additionally, Black students may feel isolated in an environment where there are fewer people who resemble them and with whom they can relate. This workshop will provide students with an opportunity to share their stories and receive valuable tips on making a successful transition.

  • June 20 | 2:30 p.m. | What is the current Impact of Global Equity Policy Regression?

Open Discussion.

  • June 28 | 2:30 p.m. | Storytelling - A self-care practice

This workshop focuses on having fun in a safe environment while learning techniques to reduce anxiety. The art of storytelling can be creatively harnessed to enhance mental health and wellness. Please bring pens and paper.

  • August 11 | 2:30 p.m. | IKYFL Game Play – Improving Non-Verbal Communication

IKYFL is a game created to call participants' bluff (nonverbal communication) while practicing memory recall of popular events, pop culture, and important people. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about North American culture while improving their communication skills.
