Biography
Nicolas Kenny is a social and cultural historian of cities, focussing on urban centres in North America and Europe. He is particularly interested in sensorial and emotional experiences of the urban environment, and in the way they shaped the relationship to the city in periods of profound transformation associated with industrial modernity, war, and technological change. He is the author of The Feel of the City: Experiences of Urban Transformation (University of Toronto Press, 2014) and Bruxelles et sa radio : 脡motions et sonorit茅s (CFC 脡ditions, 2019), as well as co-editor, with Rebecca Madgin, of Cities Beyond Borders : Comparative and Transnational Approaches to Urban History (Ashgate/Routledge, 2015).
