Your faculty teaching fellows
SFU鈥檚 faculty teaching fellows (FTFs) are continuing faculty members within each Faculty who 鈥渟upport the continued improvement of teaching and learning within the Faculty.鈥� They serve terms of one to three years and are selected through an open process determined by each Faculty dean. Appointment recommendations are approved and funded (up to a limit of two per Faculty) by the vice-president, academic. Faculties are free to fund additional positions.
FTFs 鈥渉elp address the challenges that instructors face and to communicate solutions across the Faculty, as well as [鈥 provide a channel of communication between the Faculty and higher administrative units that focus on teaching.鈥� The nature of the work varies according to the needs of each Faculty.
New and renewed appointments typically begin in September.
