Where Perseverance is Strengthened by Community
Cristina Workman brought her career as an educator to new heights when she enrolled in the Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction: Children鈥檚 and Young Adult Literature program at the Faculty of Education.
As Cristina pushed through the demands of balancing her full-time teaching position while pursuing her master鈥檚 degree, the real-time application of her learning enriched her practice and perspective as an educator.
Learning alongside a community is what made her experience in the program truly remarkable. Collaborating with a cohort that brought diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to educational growth sparked discussions that challenged her to think critically about the role of literature.
鈥淚 was incredibly grateful to be part of a passionate and insightful cohort.鈥
The coursework and collaborative projects deeply enriched Cristina's understanding of how stories can shape identity, build empathy and empower young readers. Her learnings from the program reaffirmed her belief in the powerful role that literature occupies in the classroom.
Lastly, Cristina thanks her dedicated course instructors for inspiring her tremendously throughout her studies.
鈥淓nrolling in the program was one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of my career.鈥
