Below is a recommended course map for secondary school entrants in the SFU-Exeter Accelerated Law Program's International Studies major. This is to ensure students meet the admission requirements to the University of Exeter Law School and that they are on track to complete the program within 6 years.
For Fall 2026 secondary school entrants
Year One
Fall Term
Complete 12 units.
- IS 101 (3)
- 2 IS lower division electives of choice (6)
- 1 lower division elective course with Quantitative or Breadth-Science designation (3)
Year One
Spring Term
Complete 12 units.
- 2 IS lower division electives of choice (6)
- 1 lower division elective course with Quantitative or Breadth-Science designation (3)
- 1 lower division elective course with Writing/Breadth-Humanities designation (3)
Year One
Summer Term
Complete 6 units.
2 lower division elective courses with Quantitative or Breadth-Science designation (6) (whichever you haven’t completed already)
Year Two
Fall Term
Complete 16 units.
- IS 300 (4)
- IS 350W (4)
- 2 upper division IS electives of choice (8)
Year Two
Spring Term
Complete 16 units. 
- IS 451 (4)
- 3 upper division IS electives of choice (12)
Students must be in good academic standing (CGPA 3.0 or higher) by the end of this term.
Year Two
Summer Term
Students typically do not take courses as they prepare for transition to the University of Exeter.
Year Three to Five
University of Exeter
Students complete the LLB degree program at Exeter.
Year Six
Fall Term
Complete 16 units. 
- Complete 3 ALS courses to fulfill the Certificate in Foundations of Canadian Law (12)
- 1 upper division IS elective of choice (4)
Year Six
Spring Term
Complete 12 units.
- Complete 2 ALS courses to fulfill the Certificate in Foundations of Canadian Law (8)
- 1 upper division elective of choice (4)
