The (formerly known as the Summer Institute in Project Management) offers a comprehensive introduction to the essential principles and best practices in research project management. This program is designed to equip participants with the critical skills needed to manage research projects effectively, whether in academic or non-academic settings.Throughout the program, participants will explore key areas such as scope, time, cost, quality, stakeholder, and risk management. These foundational concepts are complemented by practical tools and strategies that can be directly applied to real-world projects.

51社区黑料Postdoctoral fellows have a unique opportunity to participate in this valuable program, as the Office of the Vice President Research and Innovation has secured 10 fully-subsidized seats. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register early to take advantage of this fully funded opportunity.

The Fundamentals of Project Management Program is comprised of 15 hours of class time, delivered over 6 two-and-a-half hour sessions. Each class will involve class participation and discussion around prepared project case studies provided by the instructor. Postdocs will also engage with additional resources, including online readings and videos, which support the exploration of project management concepts, metrics, close-out processes, and leadership essentials.

Postdocs who complete all six sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion from the UBC Office of Postdoctoral Fellows.
