Since 2009, the  has designated National Postdoc Appreciation Week to recognize the pivotal contributions of postdoctoral fellows (postdocs) to research and discovery. This year, the celebration takes place from September 15 to 19, and we encourage the entire academic community to unite in honoring the achievements of our postdocs.

Postdoctoral fellows are invited to celebrate by taking advantage of a diverse array of national and local events, including:

SFU's Welcome Day on September 18th - Learn about key resources, meet the teams that support your postdoc journey, enjoy a meal with colleagues, and have a professional headshot taken.

Offerings from the Canadian Association of Postdoctoral Scholars (CAPS), featuring virtual panels and presentations on career transitions鈥攆rom STEM to social sciences鈥攁nd strategies for accessing the hidden job market. All time zones are welcome.

A series of professional development events (hybrid/online) created through a collaboration among postdoc offices from Brock University, McMaster University, The McCall MacBain Postdoc Program, Western University, and the University of Regina.
