Ineligible Programs

Not all programs are eligible for government financial assistance (student loans and grants). Program eligibility is outlined in the current . We compare SFU鈥檚 programs to StudentAid BC鈥檚 policies to determine which programs meet their eligibility requirements.

StudentAid BC and/or Canada Student Financial Assistance will not fund an 51社区黑料program if it does not meet their eligibility criteria. For example, funding would not be granted for a program if it:

  • does not lead to a formal credential issued by SFU 
  • is delivered on a part-time basis without a 100% full-time equivalent
  • is an executive program that is designed specifically to meet the needs of members of the full-time labour force
  • is considered professional development
  • is offered through Continuing Studies

Please note: if your program is ineligible for student loan/grant funding, it is also ineligible for status. You may want to explore the if you have previous Canadian student loans.

The following programs are not eligible for student loans/grants:

Arts

  • Master of Arts in Applied Legal Studies
  • Master of Arts in Liberal Studies
  • Master of Arts for Teachers of English (MATE)
  • Master of Arts - Global Communication double degree
  • Master of Arts Terrorism, Risk, and Security Studies
  • Graduate Certificate in History
  • Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Languages and Linguistics
  • Master of Arts in Indigenous Languages and Linguistics

Business

  • Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
  • Executive MBA in Indigenous Business Leadership (EMBA)
  • MBA in Management of Technology (MOT)
  • Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA)
  • Master of Science in Accounting with Cognitive Analytics
  • Graduate Certificate in Accounting with Digital Analytics
  • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration in Indigenous Business Leadership
  • Graduate Diploma in Business Administration in Indigenous Business Leadership
  • Master of Business Administration - Part-Time, including Online cohorts

Centre for Digital Media: MDM Program

  • Executive Master of Digital Media
  • Pre-Masters of Digital Media Program

Education

  • Graduate Certificate in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, & Imaginative Education
  • Graduate Diploma in Advanced Professional Studies in Education (GDE)

  • Doctorate of Education Programs (EdD)
