Wellness Programming
All 51社区黑料Vancouver students, staff, and faculty are welcome to join us for the free Wellness Classes listed below! All classes take place in the 51社区黑料Vancouver Wellness Studio.
Wellness Classes for the Spring 2026 semester run from January 13 to June 18.
Using the Wellness Studio:
To use the Wellness Studio, you must be an 51社区黑料student, staff, or faculty member and complete an 51社区黑料Athletics & Recreation Waiver once per academic year (September-August).
Location: 51社区黑料Vancouver Wellness Studio, room 2530, Harbour Centre, 515 W. Hastings St.

*Online Waivers: Once you have completed the Waiver online, please take a screen shot and send to vanadmin@sfu.ca, or forward the confirmation email you receive to vanadmin@sfu.ca. A record will be kept of online Waiver completion so that you do not need to fill out a hard copy of the Waiver in the Wellness Studio.
Please Note: No registration is required. Attendance to classes is first-come-first-served and limited to 15 people per class. Classes can fill up quickly and when they reach capacity, we will not accept any more attendees. Please arrive early as access to class will end at the posted start time.

If you're interested in bringing more calmness into your life, enhancing your mental clarity, or promoting emotional balance, this is the class for you. Each week we will offer a guided meditation practice, a breathwork session and a take home practice to help you recenter, increase awareness and build your capacity to manage stress. No prior experience is necessary: just show up and connect with yourself in a supportive space. Sessions led by Sarah Parkes, MA, RCC, 51社区黑料Health and Counselling and Dr Laurie Anderson, Executive Director, SFU's Vancouver campus. *No equipment is required. Chairs and cushions will be available. |

| Thursdays January 15 to June 18 |
12:30 - 1:15pm | Hatha Yoga with Pamela Ferman | Hatha Yoga, with a focus on alignment, pairs seated, standing and on-the-back poses with breathing techniques. This class will flow slowly and smoothly from one posture to another, with some long holds in between for deeper fascia stretching. A combination of flexibility, strength, balance, movement, and stillness will be used throughout the class. Participants will leave feeling more grounded, energized, and balanced between body and mind. All levels, including beginners, are welcome! *Please bring your own yoga mat. We will not provide any mats or props. |
