Careers

51社区黑料Childcare Society is recognized for its quality early care and learning. We have been providing and promoting a play based, family focused early care and learning program for children ages 3 months to 12 years since 1968. Located on the campus of 51社区黑料 and Sapperton Avenue, Burnaby, our physical environments and the experiences shared with children reflect the beauty and nature of our unique locations. 51社区黑料Childcare Society values children as the heart of our respectful, collaborative and reflective community by providing them with a place to develop their potential through freedom to explore and engage the world around them.

Our Values

Children are valued for their ability to do meaningful work, their wonder and curiosity, their perspectives, and ability to play. Families are valued for their bonds and traditions, their commitment to work, home and community, and their dreams for themselves and for their children. Educators are valued for their vision, for their delight in children, for their skill and knowledge, and for their commitment to families and lifelong advocacy and learning.

"Working at SFUCCS, I have been able to participate in so many great professional development opportunities and work alongside so many wonderful educators and mentors, helping me to learn so much. SFUCCS is a great community to be a part of and I feel supported and valued in my work"

- 3-5 Educator

"I鈥檝e had the unique opportunity to work with all age groups from infants to school-age children, through a range of roles including practicum student, on-call educator, educator, senior educator, and now as a Coordinator.  Each role has played a meaningful part in shaping not only my identity as an educator, but also my growth as a leader within early learning communities. What began as a student placement evolved into a space for ongoing reflective learning, opportunities, and professional development"

- SFUCCS Program Educator

"I have benefited through the experiences and values learned through working with different Co-workers, the opportunities to attend many different workshops and being able to participate in different events that the society has been kindly presented for all the educators."

- SFUCCS Senior Educator

"SFUCCS is a supportive learning environment that embraces the presence of students and lifelong learners. Being involved in student practicums as a mentor has invited me for constant reflection on my responsibilities as an early childhood educator."
