Upcoming: July 9th Webinar with Technical Safety BC
The COALESCE project, in partnership with Technical Safety BC, is hosting a free webinar focused on supporting older adults to stay safe and comfortable at home during extreme heat, cold weather, and power outages.
Practical Tips for Staying Safe at Home During Extreme Heat, Cold Weather & Power Outages
Thursday, July 9th, 2026
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM (PDT)
Online via Zoom: (registration not required)
As climate-related temperature extremes become increasingly common, understanding how to safely manage home environments is an important component of supporting healthy aging in place. In this free webinar, experts from Technical Safety BC will share practical, everyday tips for staying comfortable during temperature extremes, safely using common heating, cooling and backup power equipment, and preparing for power outages. Participants will also learn about trusted resources available in their communities and have an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences.
The session is particularly relevant for older adults, caregivers, community organizations, researchers, students, and professionals working in aging, climate adaptation, housing, public health, and community resilience.
