Glove 'N Scrub: Dish Washing Assistive Device
Assistive device
By: Jennifer Ma, Inayat Inayat, Cindy Hsu
Course: IAT 336 Materials in Design
Description: This IAT 336 project involved designing an ergonomic assistive device to support individuals with arthritis in washing dishes with reduced strain and increased comfort.
Glove N’ Scrub, intended for indoor kitchen use, promotes independent living by enabling users to wash dishes with greater ease, improved freedom of movement, and less joint discomfort.
The design combines 3D-printed plastic and soft fabrics, featuring a twist-and-lock mechanism that lets users easily attach and secure interchangeable cleaning tools like bristle brushes, sponges, or microfibre pads, which can also be filled with soap.
