Diaspora Plate

Description: Diaspora Plate is a narrative-driven 鈥渃ookbook鈥� that blends visual storytelling, childhood memory, acquired knowledge, hindsight, and experimental interactive book design to explore the lived experiences and tensions of being a first-generation Filipino-Canadian in so-called Vancouver. Through a carefully curated mix of personal reflections, family recipes, and archival aesthetics, the project explores how food operates beyond nutrition. Diaspora Plate invites readers to acknowledge and celebrate the unique identities that diasporic experiences shape, told through the lens of food.
