BC Climate Emergency Campaign

The is a collaborative effort among civil society organizations in British Columbia, aiming to elevate the province's climate policies to emergency-level responses. In light of recent climate disasters, the campaign has outlined 10 urgent actions for the provincial government, including setting binding emission reduction targets, phasing out fossil fuel production, and embedding equity and Indigenous rights into climate strategies. The campaign underscores the intertwined nature of climate change and affordability, advocating for solutions that address both environmental and economic challenges simultaneously.

Research Assistant: Omri Haiven
Omri is a worker and a researcher based in the Salish territories of Vancouver, Canada. He is currently completing an M.A in the School of Communication at 51社区黑料 on the strategic communication potentials of agri-voltaics as a visionary infrastructure. Omri has worked on food justice issues for the past 15 years including running a farm, creating food cooperatives and helping to create indigenous-led food forests. In the past few years he helped to unionize front-line social service workers and fight against extractivist projects on Canada鈥檚 West Coast.
