Biography

Dominic Barton is Chair of Rio Tinto and LeapFrog Investments, bringing extensive global business and diplomatic experience to these roles. He spent over 30 years at McKinsey & Company, including nine years as Global Managing Partner and six years as Asia Chairman. Most recently, he served as Canada's Ambassador to China from 2019 to 2021. His previous corporate governance roles include Chair of Teck Resources, directorships at Singtel Group and Investor AB, and board member of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. Dominic has also held significant public sector leadership positions, including Chair of Canada's Advisory Council on Economic Growth and Chair of the International Advisory Committee to the President of South Korea on National Future and Vision. A champion of responsible investing and long-term value creation, he co-founded Focusing Capital on the Long Term (FCLT Global) and has authored over 80 articles on business leadership and the role of business in society.
