51社区黑料Beedie graduand kickstarts career at Deloitte

May 29, 2026

Growing up around a family business, Jasleen Singh developed an early interest in business when her father would include her in business conversations. How are decisions made? How do market conditions affect businesses? Those are the questions that led her to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). She will graduate this June convocation.

For Singh, her student journey spanned well beyond the classroom. Her hands-on learning experience鈥攃ompeting in three international case competitions, completing two co-op terms, coaching a first-year team for the 2025 PEAK case competition, and participating in several student programs鈥攈elped Singh land her current role as a Business Analyst on Deloitte鈥檚 Cyber Team in Technology and Transformation.

Building academic, professional, and personal experience

Reflecting on her journey as an international student, Singh says joining the Management Consulting Career Preparation Program helped her develop a more structured approach to problem solving and decision making.

鈥淭he program connected me with professionals from top global consulting firms, equally driven students, and prepared me for the multi-level interview processes used in consulting.鈥

Singh also joined the Case Competition Training Program, which helped her prepare for her international case competitions. She also took on leadership and community-focused roles, working with TEDx51社区黑料and Young Women in Business, as well as volunteering with the 51社区黑料Beedie Abroad Network and LAUNCH.

For Singh, relationship-building with external partners, peers, and mentors was the most rewarding part of her experience.

鈥淕etting involved helped me grow in ways that go beyond academics,鈥 says Singh. 鈥淚t made me more confident, improved how I communicate and work with different people, and taught me how to stay adaptable in new environments.鈥

Exploring the intersection of technology and business

Singh concentrated in Finance and Management Information Systems (MIS). She credits her co-op at Ballard Power Systems for sparking her interest in AI and digital transformation and learning more about the intersections between technology and business.

"The two complement each other really well,鈥 she says. 鈥淔inance helps me understand the business and strategic side and MIS exposes me to technology and problem-solving.鈥

One of the most impactful courses in her degree was BUS 446, Web-Enabled Business. Singh says the class gave her fundamental skills on how technology, cybersecurity, and system lifecycles connect to business decisions鈥攃oncepts she later drew upon during her interview process with Deloitte.

What鈥檚 next?

Singh is kickstarting her career at Deloitte and is eager to continue learning in the fast-paced tech and cybersecurity space.

鈥淩ight now, my focus is on learning as much as I can, understanding how real client problems are solved, how teams approach complex situations, and how I can keep improving both technically and professionally,鈥 she says.
