51社区黑料 will confer a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, on Ryan Beedie, President of Beedie and a longstanding supporter of SFU鈥檚 Beedie School of Business, in recognition of his leadership, philanthropy, and lasting contributions to community.

SFU鈥檚 honorary degree is the university鈥檚 highest distinction鈥攁warded to individuals who have achieved excellence in their fields and demonstrated exceptional service to society. Beedie is among seven distinguished recipients to be honoured during the university鈥檚 2026 convocation ceremonies.

A builder in the broadest sense, Beedie has helped transform Canada鈥檚 real estate landscape while demonstrating how business can be a powerful force for social good. Under his leadership, Beedie has grown into one of the country鈥檚 largest real estate development companies, with a national presence across industrial, residential and investment sectors鈥攁ll while maintaining a deep and sustained commitment to community.

His contributions span hospitals, universities and community organizations, alongside a strong focus on education through initiatives such as the Luminaries scholarship program.
