- Check your enrolment appointment under the Enrolment Dates menu option.
Search and browse for classes
- Go to
- Sign in with your computing ID and password
- Click on Browse Catalog
- Select the term (Spring, Summer, Fall) you wish to view
- Choose to view either All Courses or Courses With Sections Offered
- You can use your browser's search ability to look for something specific, or use the alpha index (in green) to go to the department you're most interested in.
Explore the class schedule and seat availability
Prior to enrolling in classes, you should search the course schedule and plan your schedule:
- Go to
- Sign in with your computing ID and password
- Click on search under the academics heading.
- Click on Class Search / Browse Catalog from the left menu or click on the green "class search" box when you're in the Student Center.

- Choose the department from the drop-down list and enter additional information to refine your search.
- Note: In the Search for Classes, if you want to see classes with space available only, make sure to check "Open classes only" option. Or, if you want to also see full classes, you need to uncheck 鈥淥pen Classes Only鈥 option box.
- Click on the "Search" Button to view search results.
Note: If you see "Your search will return over 50 classes, would you like to continue? Yes/No," you may want to narrow down your search. - You may add 鈥淎dditional Search Criteria鈥 to narrow your search. For example, you may search by:
- Course ID
- Class Number
- Mode of Instruction (eg, Distance Ed)
- Class Days
- Start Time
- End Time
- Instructor Last Name
auto_label Tip: Write down the class numbers
It鈥檚 a good idea to write down class numbers before enrolling. For courses with both a lecture and a tutorial/lab, you must enter both class numbers (e.g., Lecture 1340 and Tutorial 1341). Both sections must have space available to add the course successfully.

Manage schedule changes and your Course Cart
If you鈥檙e using the Course Cart in mySchedule or goSFU, review the courses in your cart before you enrol. Course times may change, or a course may be cancelled and automatically removed from your cart.
If you encounter issues during enrolment, it may be due to updates in the course offering. Try removing the affected courses and adding them back to your cart before proceeding.
