Getting your ID Card
To receive your 51社区黑料ID card, please bring the following:
- Your 51社区黑料ID number
- A physical copy of a valid, government-issued photo ID
Electronic copies and high school ID cards are not accepted. Your 51社区黑料ID card can only be printed if the legal name on your government-issued photo ID matches the legal name on your 51社区黑料student record.
New students visiting the Burnaby campus can collect their 51社区黑料ID card at the pop-up ID card facility (details below). Please arrive by 3:30 p.m. to ensure you have time to receive your card. *On busy days, access will close at 3:00 PM*
Students visiting the Surrey and Vancouver campuses can collect their ID cards at the Registrar and Information Services office.
Returning students who need a replacement ID card must visit a Registrar and Information Services office at one of SFU's three campuses.

Name on 51社区黑料ID card
Your 51社区黑料ID card will display your chosen name. Before you arrive:
- Please verify that your chosen name is correctly listed in your student account.
- Make any necessary updates to your student account at least 24 hours in advance.
If you need a replacement card due to a name change, a replacement fee will apply.
New Students
If you are a new student, you can obtain your 51社区黑料ID card 24 hours after enrolling in your courses.
To get your ID card, please visit our pop-up ID card facility located at the Lower Level of the 51社区黑料Bookstore & Spirit Shop on the Burnaby campus. For detailed location information, please check .
Please remember to bring your 51社区黑料ID number and a valid piece of government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, Canadian driver's license, or Certificate of Indian Status. Electronic copies and high school ID cards are not accepted. Your 51社区黑料ID can only be printed if your legal name matches the name on your 51社区黑料student record.

- Wednesday, August 27 - Saturday, August 30: 9 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM)*
- Tuesday, September 2 - Friday, September 5: 9 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM)*
- Wednesday, September 3: access will close at 3:00 PM
- Monday, September 8 - Friday, September 12: 9 AM - 4 PM (last access at 3:30 PM)*
*On busy days, access will close at 3:15 PM
Note: Former FIC students must bring their FIC ID card to obtain the new 51社区黑料ID card.
Current Students
Current 51社区黑料students who require a replacement ID card should visit the Registrar and Information Services offices that is most convenient to them. Location and hours of operation can be found on this page.
Bring a photo ID
To get your 51社区黑料ID card, you must bring a physical copy of a valid government-issued photo ID. The ID must include your full legal name and date of birth in English, and must not be expired.

Types of 51社区黑料ID Card
Student
51社区黑料ID cards are automatically renewed whenever you enrol in courses. You must keep your card for the duration of your studies at 51社区黑料and thereafter as an alumnus.
Faculty and staff
Following the first payroll cycle, staff and faculty can get their 51社区黑料Employee ID card at any of our three campuses at Registrar and Information Services.
FIC students
You may need a Student ID Card if you live in 51社区黑料Residence and Housing and need access to the dining hall.
FIC students are able to request their ID and Replacement IDs at any of our Registrar and Information Services offices.
Visitors cards
Visiting faculty and scholars, 51社区黑料Childcare staff, visiting graduate students, and members of the 51社区黑料community who are being sponsored by a department may be eligible to receive an 51社区黑料ID card and library borrowing privileges. Visiting students not paying the Student Services fee will be required to pay a fee of $20 + PST before receiving their 51社区黑料ID card.
In order for us to determine your eligibility for an 51社区黑料ID card, our office will require a letter from your department that lists your start and end date at SFU, in addition to a valid piece of government-issued photo ID.
