Biography

Marcelo is an MA student in Criminology at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏ, within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Criminology from SFU. His research focuses on plea bargaining practices from the perspectives of all criminal justice actors involved—judges, lawyers, and the accused. Marcelo is particularly interested in the dynamics of decision-making within the criminal justice system.

He has been involved in teaching in various capacities since he began coaching soccer at the age of 15 and has worked as a teaching assistant at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏsince 2023. He is passionate about advancing knowledge in criminology while helping others build their understanding of criminal justice topics. Marcelo is excited to contribute to the academic community at 51ÉçÇøºÚÁÏas a research assistant for TILT.
